The Nightlife Awards -- a unique awards show with no acceptance speeches (just pure entertainment provided by the winners and special guest stars) has been hailed by The New York Times as "The equivalent of The Tony Awards for New York Nightlife." Just one week after the winners were announced, the vast majority of them have already agreed to come to Town Hall and perform, as well as a growing list of guest stars. Among those who have already agreed to grace the Town Hall stage on Monday, January 31st are CHRISTINE EBERSOLE, JESSICA MOLASKEY, NELLIE McKAY, CHARLES BUSCH, JULIE HALSTON, KAREN OBERLIN, AARON WEINSTEIN, LIZ LARK BROWN, MARK McCOMBS, HARVARD SAILING TEAM and HANNIBAL BURESS. The show will be hosted by Emmy Award Winner Bruce Vilanch.
More winners and guest stars will be announced shortly for what is the most audience-friendly of all award shows, The Nightlife Awards!
Said the show's creator and producer, Scott Siegel, "Every year -- and this is our ninth -- we assemble an ever-growing list of exceptional talent from across the length and breadth of the live entertainment spectrum in support of the Nightlife Awards. By the time we reach January 31st, the talent list will be out of this world. To give you an idea, we have had from the theater world, Raoul Esparza, Donna Murphy, Kristin Chenoweth, Patti LuPone, Liza Minnelli, Elaine Stritch, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and more. From the cabaret world Karen Akers, Andrea Marcovicci, Eartha Kitt, Marilyn Maye and more. From the comedy world Alan King, Robert Klein, Demetri Martin, and more! From the jazz world Bill Charlap, Paula West, Mark Murphy, and more! Other celebrities have included Robert Altman, Bob Mackie, and David & Helen Gurley Brown. The list goes on! But the most amazing aspect of the Nightlife Awards is that it's non-stop entertainment by the greatest entertainers in the world. All on one stage, on one night. This year, it's Monday, January 31st at 7 PM at The Town Hall."
9th Annual Nightlife Awards is created and produced by Scott Siegel, directed by Scott Coulter with musical direction by Tedd Firth.
