On Sunday, August 18, 2013, Singers Angelo Divino and Arienne Battiste will bring the Los Angeles hit show "Lucky So And So" to the Arthur Newman Theater in Palm Desert as part of the on-going Sundays In Summer Series presented by Les Michaels.

The tribute to the one and only Duke Ellington picks up where "Sophisticated Ladies" left off, intimately chronicling Duke's fascinating life based on his sister Ruth's insider's perspective. Each fun and poignant tale of Duke's life flows into the next perfectly paced song, creating a unique and fresh Ellington narrative.

Song highlights include many of the most requested hits like "It Don't Mean A Thing", "Solitude", "Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me", "Don't Get Around Much Anymore", "Mood Indigo", "Satin Doll" and many more. "Performers Angelo and Arienne have a special bond on stage which seems to take the audience back in time" says producer Les Michaels, "and the arrangements by Howlett Smith are spot on". Smith, a legend in the jazz world, will also be taking on the accompanist duties for this show.

"Lucky So And So" starring Angelo Divino and Arienne Battiste with accompaniment by Musical Director Howlett Smith on piano, will be presented at 2 PM on August 18, 2013 at the Arthur Newman Theater in The Joslyn Center, 73750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert. Tickets are $10 cash only and available at the box office, which opens at 1 PM before the show. For any questions, call 760-325-2731.
