Don't Tell Mama Presents 'TIS THE SEASON WITH VIKIE & NICKIE, 12/2 & 12/5

NYC's musical comedy duo of Vickie & Nickie are returning to the legendary cabaret venue, Don't Tell Mama in NYC on December 2nd and December 5th with their new holiday show...'Tis The Season with Vickie & Nickie. The multi-instrumental, singing suburban housewife sister duo from Minnesota are played by real life sisters, Lori and Lisa Brigantino. Infused with snappy dialogue and audience participation, self-accompanied original songs and cover tunes, Vickie and Nickie will take the audience on a journey and celebration of the holidays as they share their rise to "fame", family stories and their own special take on the world today. The self-contained musical comedy duo intertwines song and dialogue that delves into the characters lives and comments on current events all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, violin, ukuleles and percussion.

Native New Yorkers, Lori and Lisa Brigantino have been performing together musically since they were children, but created the characters of Vickie & Nickie only 6 years ago. They have written and performed 8 full shows including: Vickie & Nickie's Sizzlin' Summer Spectacular! which played to sold out houses at Don't Tell Mama and The Vickie & Nickie Dream Tour! which had very successful runs in NYC at Upstairs at Rose's Turn and The Duplex. In addition, Vickie & Nickie have made appearances in many variety and comedy shows in NYC including: Danny Leary's popular "On the Rocks" weekly variety show at The Duplex, Becky Donohue and Danny Leary's "The Cocktail Show" at Don't Tell Mama, The Huxley Vertical Presents: Brave New Kabaret at the Triad and "The Rocha Dance Theatre's Glamour Bash" at the Galapagos Art Space in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Lori and Lisa were last seen in upstate New York in July and August performing a 2 set evening of their shows...Vickie & Nickie's Sizzlin' Summer Spectacular and The Best of Vickie & Nickie at the Foothills Performing Arts Center's new cabaret series. The Brigantino sisters are in the process of preparing for other upcoming NYC appearances and are currently writing their 9th live show.

Lori (Vickie) holds a Major in Theatre and a Minor in Music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio 2 year Meisner Actor Training Program. She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd. Her credits include "The Last Nickel" at The NYC International Fringe Festival, "Trials & Fibs" Off Broadway at The Soho Playhouse and several Off-Off Broadway plays and independent films. Lori is a member of Actor's Equity Association, BMI and MAC. Lisa (Nickie) is an award-winning composer and professional musician with a Masters in Composition & Theory from SUNY Fredonia. She writes for dance, theater, film and TV and most recently scored the short film "Game Night." Lisa is currently recording her second solo CD while her debut, "A Brooklyn Night," continues to receive great reviews and airplay. Lisa was a founding member of the all girl rock band, Lez Zeppelin, and toured internationally with the band, playing bass, keyboards and mandolin. They released their self-titled debut CD in 2007, recorded and produced by legendary engineer/producer, Eddie Kramer. Lisa is a member of BMI, NARAS, The Songwriters Guild of America and serves on the advisory board of Women In Music, Inc.

Shows are at Wednesday December 2 at 7pm & Saturday, December 5 at 6pm. Doors open a half hour before show time. Tickets are $12 with a 2-drink min., $8 with a 2-drink non-alcoholic min. for minors under 21, $6 with a 2-drink min. for MAC members.
