Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret Announces Its September Roster Of Performances

Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret, Chicago's premier location for enjoying music in an intimate setting, announces its roster of September performances in its Cabaret and Piano Bar. Davenport's, 1383 North Milwaukee Ave., is open Thursdays 7 - 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. - 12 a.m. and Sundays from 6 - 11 p.m. Performers, tickets and more are available at DavenportsPianoBar.com.

Please note: All patrons must be 21 years old or older. Masks are suggested for all guests when not seated or drinking

All performances in The Cabaret are ticketed events with a two-drink minimum on the night of the performance.

Beginning in January, Joe Augustinsky set off on a New Year's resolution to write a song a week for the whole year. Now, he really feels like he should do something with them. So, come on by to Davenport's to hear the songs about shoes, boats, and a whole lot of nonsense, with surprise guests and fun to be had by all.

Vagina Reunion: The Vagina Monologues

Saturday, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $25 with a two-drink minimum

With the impending demise of the constitutional right to make decisions about our own bodies (i.e. Roe v. Wade), Davenport alums Miriam Plotkin and Maia Madison are joined by Anjali Bhimani to suit up for an encore performance of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues to remind people that the fight is not over. Join them for a night of charity, feminism and be a part of the movement. All proceeds from this performance go to Planned Parenthood.

Sunday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Tom Orland, musical icon Beckie Menzie and serious up-and-comer Marianne Murphy Orland celebrate the first 50 years of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

It's a show about inspiration; the newspaper articles and movies and I Ching concepts that inspired songs like "She's Leaving Home," "Ain't No Sunshine" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." And it's about how these songs and these artists have inspired Tom as a songwriter and performer for over 30 years. This is also the Midwest release of his new CD "Tom Orland: The Misplaced Recordings."

The Funny Girl in Me: Josephine Sanges Sings Fanny Brice

Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m.

The 2019 MAC Award (female vocalist) and 2017 Margaret Whiting Award winner, Josephine Sanges, celebrates the legacy of Fanny Brice by recalling her own experience playing the leading role in the 1995 Diocesan Theater Guild production of Funny Girl. She puts her own personal stamp on songs from both Funny Girl and "Funny Lady" as well reinvigorating a few of Fanny's original, trademark songs from the Ziegfeld Follies and Hollywood films. The Funny Girl in Me: Josephine Sanges Sings Fanny Brice is directed by Jeff Harnar and music directed by John M. Cook.
