The creative team has been announced for the Musical Mondays @ Curtain Call presentation of the 2010 American Harmony Prize winning new musical "Buddy's Tavern." The concert reading will be directed by Brett A. Bernardini and music direction will be by Bradley Vieth. The performers will include Michael Iannucci in the title role. "Buddy's Tavern" was written by Raymond DeFelitta (Book), Alison Louise Hubbard (Lyrics) and Kim Oler (Music). The musical is based on DeFelitta's 2000 independent film "Two Family House."
The concert reading of "Buddy's Tavern" will be presented on Monday, February 22, 2010, at 7:30 pm, as the second offering in Curtain Call's 2009 Musical Mondays series. The performance will take place in the newly renovated Kweskin Theater, followed by the presentation of the award and a reception with the authors and cast. Curtain Call will also host a free screening of "Two Family House" on the night before our Musical Mondays presentation in the Kweskin Theater at 7:30 pm, Sunday, February 21.
Bradley Vieth (Music Director) conducted and orchestrated "Lovers and Friends" by Michael Joh LaChiusa at Lyric Opera of Chicago and "The Grand Duchess" at the Chicago Opera Theater. His Off-B'way credits include productions of "Shout!" (Julia Miles Theater),"Wings" (Joseph Papp Public Theatre) and "A Child's Garden." His regional credits include "L'Enfant et les Sortileges" (Dorian Opera Theatre), "A Little Night Music" (Joseph Jefferson Award-Best Musical Direction), "Another Midsummer Night" (Goodman Theatre) and "Triumph of Love" (Baltimore Center Stage and Yale Repertory Theatre). He toured Europe with Carmen, Little Shop of Horrors, On the Town, West Side Story, and Chicago.
