Travis Sullivan QUARTET
Tue Apr 06th 8:30PM
(Travis Sullivan, alto saxophone; Mike Eckroth, piano; Nathan Peck, bass; Brian Fishler, drums)

Alto saxophonist, pianist, arranger, composer and educator Travis Sullivan has established himself as one of the most innovative and creative voices in modern jazz today. His recording debut of all originals was hailed by critics as "one of the the best indie releases heard in the past year" (Todd Jenkins, All About Jazz), and he was praised by jazz writer Bill Milkowski (Jazz Times) as "as artist to watch in the coming days". Also an accomplished composer, Sullivan's work "The Last Tango in NYC", a piece for accordion, clarinet, trombone, and electric guitar, was recorded by the eclectic chamber quartet "The Four Bags" for their 2004 CD "Offshore".
