Chart-Topping Recording Artist Premieres Solo Cabaret at Winter Park Playhouse

The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series will feature the smoky vocals of DeeJay Young in his new solo cabaret, Waving Through A Window, August 9 and 10, 2017. DeeJay Young is an internationally recognized recording artist who has recently released his latest EP, Unplugged, which soared to the top 100 albums chart on U.S. and Japan iTunes.

Mr. Young will be debuting his first cabaret-style performance in the intimate setting at The Playhouse. Waving Through A Window will highlight DeeJay's young boy to man story and his experiences as he sees the world through music and song. He will perform popular songs from his musical roots in traditional Musical Theatre, Gospel, Contemporary R&B, and Jazz styles along with some original material.

DeeJay was last seen as a featured tenor in The Winter Park Playhouse production of I Left My Heart: A Salute To The Music of Tony Bennett. Additionally he played Sammy Davis Jr., in The Playhouse show The Rat Pack Lounge to sold out audiences. Currently, DeeJay can be seen in The American Music Machine at Disney's EPCOT and has credits performing in Finding Nemo: The Musical and Disney Channel Rocks, all at The Walt Disney World Resort.

General admission tickets are $20 plus a one drink minimum. Once sold out, a limited number of "Standing Room Only" tickets are available fo $10. Seating is limited so advance reservations are strongly recommended. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. show.
