Chad Doreck who currently stars in the hit off-Broadway musical Altar Boyz will be making his New York solo musical debut at the Cutting Room on February 21 at 10:30PM.
Chad, a talented funk singer and song writer, will perform from his forthcoming debut project "Awake and Sing." His album is inspired by the albums of Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael Jackson, Al Green and Quincy Jones. On "Awake and Sing," He is backed by a band of veteran musicians that have played not only for the artists he grew up listening to but also for legendary bands and artists such as Rufus, Mariah Carey, Dizzie Gillespie, Tower of Power, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson and many others.
From the commanding horn section of the song "Good Girls Gone Bad," to Chad's smooth, honey-like chops in the ballad, "Bad Love," "Awake & Sing" resonates a sincerity that bridges the gap between modern day pop enthusiasts and Funk disciples in offering a fun and diverse mix of soulful authenticity.
Chad will perform with a full band complete with a horn section with Trumpet, Trombone and Sax, and a Rhythm section with Bass, Drums, Guitar and Keys. He will also have three back-up singers called the Chadillacs. This is Chad's New York Debut.
Prior to performing in New York, Chad's band has frequently performed at the premiere soul venues in Los Angeles such as The Mint, the Gig and Room 5.
Tickets to the Cutting Room gig are $10 and they can be purchased by calling 212 691 1900 or www.smartix.com
