The Laurie Beechman Theatre is pleased to celebrate Valentine's Day on Saturday, February 14th with a special evening that includes a three course dinner (specially prepared by Executive Chef Joe Marcus) and special musical performance, featuring acclaimed vocalist Lisa Asher. Please join us at 7:30pm for dinner and show (house opens at 6:30). Show only tickets are also available.* The Laurie Beechman Theatre, a sophisticated yet casual venue, is located within The West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd St. (@9th Ave).

Lisa Asher's eclectic musical tastes range from Rodgers & Hammerstein (music from their classic, Cinderella) to Cole Porter (Love For Sale), and compositions by Michael Smith, Janis Ian and Rodgers & Hart. She has used her passionate, rich vocals to celebrate Valentine's Day in a special performance for the past five years, an event that has become a sold-out New York tradition.

THE Laurie Beechman THEATRE inside THE WEST BANK CAFÉ - Opened in 1978, The West Bank Café was a pioneer of fine dining on West 42nd Street at a time when Hell's Kitchen still lived up to its name. The Laurie Beechman Theatre, opened in the early 1980's, stages plays and hosts events nightly. Among the myriad of performers who have graced the stage of The Beechman: The Who, Broadway's Alison Fraser, Karen Mason and Warren Leight, Lewis Black (the theatre's former Playwright-in-Residence), Howard Stern, Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger and many others. The restaurant's regulars have included Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller and Bruce Willis. Currently, the elegant boite and theatre are favorites of a host of New York's most prominent personalities.

Lisa Asher's critically acclaimed one-woman show, Stranded in the Moonlight, recently completed a successful run at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, which has garnered her the New York Nightlife Award and the praise of audiences and critics alike for her passionate vocals and witty humor. Lisa made her national television debut in a solo vocal performance on the Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O'Donnell Show, at the insistence of the show's musical director, John McDaniel. Ms. Asher is the recipient of a MAC (Manhattan Association of Clubs & Cabarets) Award for Outstanding Vocalist, as well as the Back Stage Bistro Award for her solo work in cabarets in New York. Her critically acclaimed debut CD, Let The Mystery Be, was nominated for a MAC Award for Recording of the Year, and her recent release Lisa Asher, Live at the Duplex, is available in stores nationwide. Lisa has appeared as a featured vocalist and actress in numerous concert and theatrical venues around the country. Recently, she appeared with Tony nominated songwriter/singer Craig Carnelia (Sweet Smell of Success, Imaginary Friends) at a sold out concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Recent theatrical credits include starring in the world premiere of two new musicals - I Married Wyatt Earp at The Bristol Riverside Theater and, Almost Heaven . . . Songs and Stories of John Denver at the Tony Award-Winning Denver Theatre Center Company.
