Carolee Carmello, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Rachel Bay Jones and More Sing Miller and Tysen at 54 Below Tonight

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "The Songs of Miller and Tysen" tonight, September 15th, 2014. Shows at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Described as equal parts James Taylor and Stephen Sondheim, Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen's songs have been performed everywhere from East Village folk clubs, to Off-Broadway theaters, to Sesame Street. The concert will feature some of Broadway's best performers singing never-before-heard material from Tuck Everlasting, which premieres at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta this winter. The concert will also include favorite tunes from The Burnt Part Boys, and The Mysteries of Harris Burdick.

The full-line up of performers (subject to change) includes: Carolee Carmello, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Rachel Bay Jones, Barrett Wilbert Weed, Fred Applegate, Michael Park, Robert Lenzi, Michael Wartella, and Alexander Sage Oyen. The evening will be musical directed by Ben Cohn, and will feature Sean Driscoll on guitar. Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen will host the evening and also perform.

Chris Miller (music) and Nathan Tysen (lyrics) have written The Burnt Part Boys (2010 Lucille Lortel Nomination, Best Musical) and Fugitive Songs (2008 Drama Desk Award Nomination, Outstanding Revue), both of which have cast albums on Yellow Sound Label available at iTunes and Amazon. Current projects include an adaptation of the popular novel Tuck Everlasting (Direction by Casey Nicholaw, Book by Claudia Shear), and commissions from Lincoln Center Theater and Playwrights Horizons/Theatreworks Silicon Valley. They have also written two circuses for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, contributed to the revue Stars of David, and penned an adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg's picture book, The Mysteries of Harris Burdick (Boston Globe Top Ten Pick of 2008). Television work includes songs for Sesame Street (2012 Daytime Emmy Award) and The Electric Company. Chris and Nathan apply for many awards and grants, and sometimes even win.
