Carner and Gregor have announced the winners of the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V casting contest. Eight winners were selected from over 100 submissions received from college students around the country. Winners were selected by a four-person judging panel comprised of Casting Directors Michael Cassara and Jason Najjoum, Concert Director Marlo Hunter, and Concert Producer Alina Gutiérrez. Carner and Gregor were not involved in the judging process.

After four sold-out editions, Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA is back for its fifth year. The concert will take place Monday, August 5th at (le) Poisson Rouge. Showtime is 8PM. Doors open at 7PM.

The evening will feature the pair's work and will be hosted by Andrew Kober and Danielle Wade (Barely Legal IV alumna and Over The Rainbow-Canada winner). The evening will mark the New York City performance debut for many of the cast members.

The evening is under the direction of Marlo Hunter, director and choreographer of Carner & Gregor's Richard Rodger's Award-winning musical Unlock'd at The Duke on 42nd Street for Prospect Theater Company. Musical direction will be provided by Emily Whitaker (Princeton '15). Barely Legal is presented by Alina Gutiérrez.

Tickets for the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V are $20 with a two- drink minimum for table seating, and no-drink minimum for standing room. CARNER & GREGOR: Sam Carner and Derek Gregor's musical UNLOCK'D won a Richard Rodgers Award and was produced at NYMF in 2007, where it won the "Best in the Fest" audience prize and Talkin' Broadway Citations for "Best Original Theatrical Score" and "Best Musical." UNLOCK'D is currently playing Off-Broadway at the Duke Theater on 42nd St. Carner & Gregor's show ISLAND SONG will be workshopped this summer at the Balagan Theatre in Seattle and the Bloomington Playwrights Project in Indiana, after late 2012 concert performances at (le) Poisson Rouge in NYC and in Tokyo (in Japanese!). Three numbers from the show have been nominated for MAC Awards. Their work has been performed around the US and the world (including in Antarctica), and a concert of their songs sung by West End performers was presented in London this March. www.carnerandgregor.com

Marlo Hunter: Marlo directed and choreographed the Off-Broadway premiere of Carner & Gregor's new musical, UNLOCK'D at The Duke on 42nd Street (Prospect). Upcoming: Carner & Gregor's ISLAND SONG at Seattle's Balagan Theatre (Director); Adam Overett's MY LIFE IS A MUSICAL (NY Workshop - Director). Founder, Eating Their Words, which pairs world premiere plays with an original menu, each inspired by the other.
