After sold-out performances in New York City and her hometown of San Francisco, critically acclaimed comedic cabaret artist and musical theater singer Carly Ozard brings her smash cabaret show Somebody to Love: My Musical Tribute to Freddie Mercury to New York City's jazz institution Iridium for two performances: 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight, April 16, 2013.

Tickets are $25 plus a $15 food/beverage minimum. Reservations are encouraged by calling (212) 582-2121 or ordering online at www.TheIridium.com. The Iridium is located at 1650 Broadway at 51st St., New York, NY.

Carly Ozard will be "Queen" for a day on April 16, paying homage to her musical idol Freddie Mercury and sharing little-known facts about Mercury's public and personal life. Ms. Ozard's cabaret show showcases popular and rarely heard songs from Queen's extensive repertoire, as well as solo work written by Mercury without Queen. The show is directed by Barry Kleinbort, with musical director Steven Ray Watkins on piano and conducting the band.

What do a rock tenor and a classic belter have in common? A love of singing and showmanship! Ms. Ozard has long drawn inspiration from Mercury's theatrical performance style, as well as his powerhouse vocal chops. As she explains, "I heard Freddie Mercury's voice at a very young age and I was really fascinated by him. I didn't understand how a voice like that could come out of a man. And he was the epitome of a performer; he to commits to every single song."

Among the songs Ms. Ozard will perform at Somebody to Love are "I Want It All," "Don't Stop Me Now," "Somebody To Love," "Fat Bottomed Girls," and "Days of Our Lives," along with lesser-known treasures as "Too Much Love Will Kill You," "Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow," and Brian May's tender send-off for Freddie Mercury, entitled "No One But You."

Ms. Ozard's previous NYC engagement of Somebody to Love-at Don't Tell Mama in 2011-drew a sold-out house and rave reviews. According to Broadwayworld.com, "What a debut it was! Full of heart, passion, great music, and fantastic vocals, it was a thoroughly entertaining show from top to bottom."

Since moving to New York City one year ago, Carly Ozard has wowed audiences at premier nightclubs including 54 Below, Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland, and the Laurie Beechman Theater-where she recently performed a successful run of her show Shift Happens. A classically-trained mezzo-soprano, she launched her career in San Francisco, making her Plush Room debut in 2007 and her Rrazz Room debut in 2009.

She was also a fixture in the Bay Area musical theatre scene, playing leading roles in The Golden Apple (42nd St. Moon), Carousel (Lamplighters), and featured as "Sally" in Follies opposite San Francisco cabaret favorites Barry Lloyd, Lua Hadar, Russ Lorenson and Linda Kosut.
