Capathia Jenkins and Louis Rosen Return to Birdland 10/6

Jim Caruso's Cast Party will present the return of acclaimed performing duo 'Capathia Jenkins and Louis Rosen on Monday, October 6, 2008, at 7:00pm. The set is part of the Nightlife Award-winning concert series Broadway at Birdland, long a staple at the legendary club. Jenkins is best known for her Broadway resume ('Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me;' 'Caroline, Or Change'), while Rosen, a noted songwriter/guitarist, pens many of the duo's offerings.
Look for tunes from their recently released album, "One Ounce of Truth: The Nikki Giovanni Songs" (PS Classics). The album was launched at the Iridium Jazz Club, where their collaborator and inspiration, world-renowned poet Nikki Giovanni, made a personal appearance.
Jenkins and Rosen will also preview songs from a new project, while revisiting favorites from "Angelou Songs," and from their debut album, "South Side Stories," released in Fall 2006. Pianist Kim Grigsby and bassist Dave Phillips will join them for the set.

Recently featured on NY1, Broadway at Birdland was created by acclaimed performer, writer, producer & presenter Jim Caruso. Broadway at Birdland is a weekly concert series on Sunday and Monday evenings, showcasing legendary Broadway performers and composers, as well as up-and-coming musical theater talents. The series started as a companion piece to the hugely popular and hilarious weekly impromptu variety show Jim Caruso's Cast Party (which follows Mondays at 9:30pm)
