Cait Doyle's Hot Mess in Manhattan (2009 MAC Award for Best Female Debut) returns to the Duplex (61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue) with it's "Bridal Mess" on October 3rd at 9:30pm.

Sometimes life in Manhattan means cosmos and rent stabilized brownstones. Most times, it doesn't. Meet our everyWOMAN: an unflappable, but lovable, 20-something New Yorker with a dream to "spread the truth" that Carrie Bradshaw is a lie. Each month promises an original song from one of New York's hottest composers. October's Hot Mess in Manhattan features "I Brought You Muffins; Why Aren't I on Broadway?" an original song from the writing team of Ryan Bogner, Mischa Faucher, & Jason Michael Snow (Hey, You Know What Movie Would Make a Good Musical?).

Based on creator Doyle's real life experiences, Hot Mess in Manhattan, is an evolving cross-breed of stand-up and cabaret that creates a vehicle for outstanding composers to showcase their writing styles and reach the musical theatre community hungry for new, relevant music. Composers already featured include Ryan Scott Oliver(Playwrights Horizon's Mrs. Sharp), Adam Gwon (2008 Fred Ebb Award Winner, Ordinary Days), Gaby Alter (2008 Larson Award Winner), and last month's Ryan Cunningham & Joshua Salzman (I Love You, Because). Oliver and Gwon each received 2009 MAC Award nominations for Best Song for their contributions.

Hot Mess In Manhattan conceiver and MAC award winner Cait Doyle was last seen at the Public Theatre in This Preview is Rated RSO. Other notable roles include Cathy in the San Francisco premiere of "The Last 5 Years" and the Fringe Festival's "Underwear: A Space Musical". The show is musically directed by Sharon Kenny and is directed by MAC & Bistro award winning Jonathan Whitton.

Tickets to Hot Mess in Manhattan are priced at $15.00, with a two drink minimum. To reserve tickets, visit www.duplex.com.
