Cabaret Producer Joseph Macchia Celebrates 20 Years with Benefit March 22nd

Joseph Macchia produced his first show in 1997 a show called Gwen Verdon and All Her Jazz, a show his brother Peter had written and starred in. Being bit by the producing bug, Joseph would go on to produce his brother's next show Judy and Me originally a one night solo show at The Duplex, Judy and Me would be turned into a play, and was booked for four nights at Rose's Turn. Where the show would wind up running for two years and then go and tour around the country. After Judy and Me toured the show took a break before returning to New York in an Off Off Broadway Run and then Off Broadway run. Since Judy and Me Joseph has created and produced numerous shows in New York City,

Joseph has gone on to produce Cabaret Cares a benefit series for his charity Help Is On The Way Today.(4 MAC AWARDS and a Bistro Award and BroadwayWorld Award recipient) New York's Next Top Drag Queen (MAC Award Nomination), Boys Night Out A Celebration of The Rat Pack (MAC Award Nomination), Gone Too Soon, Broadway On 22nd Street, A Night At The Troubadour Stacy Sullivan,Since You've Asked (Stacy Sullivan) Drop Me Off In Harlem (T. Oliver Reid), Too Blondes (Savannah Brown and Chase O'Donnell, The Q A Gay Talk Variety Show (with co Host Shawn Moninger and Thomas Dieter. and a few more.

Joseph never had any thoughts about being in the entertainment field and if it were not for his brother 20 years ago asking him to produce his show, he may never found his love and passion for producing, which led him into working at cabaret clubs in New York City and finally becoming the booking manager of The Metropolitan Room, a job he truly loves! He looks forward to the next 20 years of many more shows, And has big ideas for the future.

The Evening will benefit The Alzheimer's Association a disease he lost his Grandmother to, Mt Sinai Hospital Cancer Floor, a disease his mom and aunt are currently are fighting.
