Singer/songwriter/electric-violinist/poet/rocker Bitch takes the stage at Joe's Pub on Saturday, October 17, celebrating the completion of her upcoming spring release Blasted! with a live concert appearance. This not-to-be-missed event will showcase material featured on Bitch's new release - a sonic jump that mixes her love of record production with her signature electric-violin-poetic-rock. Performance begins at 9:30 PM.

Born in Pittsburgh, Bitch started playing the violin at 4-years old after watching an episode of Sesame Street, soon after she began to write poems as well. After a 2-year stint in acting school, Bitch picked up the fiddle under Andrew Bird, and escaped to Australia with a shaved head to perform on the streets. Returning to the US, she started and toured with her first band Bitch and Animal, a radical duo that was signed to Ani Difranco's label, Righteous Babe Records. Bitch went on to record a solo effort on the label Kill Rock Stars called Make This Break This, and even appeared as herself in John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus.

Since producing a record and touring all last year with her folk-idol Ferron, Bitch has started her own label, Short Story Records, cut off all her dread-locks and suffered a heartbreak that has fueled the fire out of which great albums are born.

Bitch's one-night-only concert appearance takes place Saturday, October 17 @ 9:30 PM. Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street by Astor Place. Tickets are $15.00 and are available by phone (212) 539-8778 or online at www.joespub.com
