"The Broadway and NYC musical theater communities are unwavering allies of the LGBTQ movement. The Songs in the Key of Equality concert is a giant love letter to our LGBTQ communities, whose freedoms are at stake. As bigotry and hate have found a mouthpiece in the new administration, the concert's message that 'Our Time is Now' - to make a difference, to lead with love - is more important than ever," says Fund Cofounder, Sue Sena.
This year The Swish Ally Fund is honoring nonprofits that advocate and empower LGBTQ people of color and immigrants, young women and transgender people, the elderly and the homeless. And their funding is fueling advocacy campaigns for equality and to outlaw hate, exclusion and conversion therapy:
Since its creation 4 years ago, the Swish Ally Fund has awarded over $31,000 to 22 organizations - doubling its investment for the second year in a row.
