Bret Shuford (www.bretshuford.com), currently appearing in Disney's newest musical, The Little Mermaid, will make his solo cabaret debut on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at Westbank Café in New York City.  The evening of contemporary and Broadway favorites, as well as compositions from multi-award-winning musical director Michael Holland, will begin at 9pm.  There is a $25 cover and a $15 food and/or beverage minimum. For reservations call 212.695.6909.

Shuford will feature songs from a wide cross-section of artists including Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, Rufus Wainwright, Rascal Flatts and others.  In addition, Shuford will be singing a variety of Broadway favorites. The show will also be supervised by Malcolm Gets, who is perhaps best known for his work on the hit sitcom Caroline in the City, and numerous musical theater productions in New York.  Gets will appear in the upcoming films Grey Gardens and Sex and the City.

Shuford made his Broadway debut in Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang and was last seen in Disney's Beauty and the Beast where he understudied and performed the role of Lumiere.  In addition, he appeared in benefits for The Actors' Fund: A Wonderful Life, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and On The 20th Century.  Regionally, he starred in Kiss Me, Kate, A Chorus Line, Cats, and many others.

Musical director Michael Holland regularly appears as one half of downtown sensation and critics' favorite "Gashole!", a multi-award winning maniacal salute to pop music, now in its seventh year.  He is currently at work on "Hurricane," a full-length musical about the Great Hurricane of 1938, as well as original music for The Alley Theatre's spring 2008 production of "Othello."
