Some of Broadway's brightest stars will join host Colman Domingo (Tony nominee THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, PASSING STRANGE) in a tribute to the beloved Broadway music director Linda Twine - who has served as music director for numerous shows including THE COLOR PURPLE, CAROLINE OR CHANGE, BIG RIVER and A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD - at the first-ever SINGERS ALWAYS DELIVER concert on Monday, March 10 at 7 pm at Stage 72 (158 W. 72 St.) in Manhattan.
The evening - which benefit's New York's New Professional Theatre (led by Founder/ Artistic Director Sheila K. Davis, Ronette in the original LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Off-Broadway) - is presented by Kenneth L. Roberson (choreographer, Tony Award-winning AVENUE Q) in assocation with Lee Summers.
Adrian Lenox (DOUBT, AFTER MIDNIGHT), Brandon Victor Dixon (MOTOWN, SCOTTSBORO BOYS), Phillip Boykin (PORGY & BESS), Aisha de Haas (CAROLINE OR CHANGE), Lawrence Hamilton (RAGTIME), Kenita Miller (THE COLOR PURPLE), Charles Wallace (CHOIR BOY), Darryl Williams (JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR) and Natasha Yvette Williams (PORGY AND BESS) will perform at SINGERS ALWAYS DELIVER, under the musical direction of Michael O. Mitchell.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit New Professional Theatre, whose past productions include SINGLE BLACK FEMALE, THE IN-GATHERING, COMING APART TOGETHER and TWO DIVAS AND A DOG. New Professional Theatre is dedicated to new work by both new and established playwrights, and to cultivating new audiences for the theatre.
