Block, Arcelus, Danieley, Mazzie, Hilty & More Set For 'Sorta Love Songs' At Birdland Tonight

Composers Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel will host the premiere of their new musical revue, "Sorta Love Songs" in an evening comprised of their best songs sung by Stephanie J. Block, Jason Danieley, Marin Mazzie. Sebastian Arcelus, Megan Hilty, Kate Baldwin & Daniel Reichard, with Allison Seidner on cello tonight at the Birdland.

"Sorta Love Songs" will begin at 7pm.

Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel's songs have been performed at Carnegie Hall (Michael Feinstein: Now and Then" Series), Lincoln Center ("American Songbook Series"), Joe's Pub, Symphony Space, The Kennedy Center, and the Chicago Humanities Festival. Their songs have been premiered by Kristin Chenoweth (Carnegie Hall), Rebecca Luker (The Kennedy Center), Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley, Stephanie J. Block, Susan Egan, and Liz Callaway.

Recordings of their work appear on Lisa Richard's album VIRGIN TRACKS, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley's OPPOSITE YOU, and Stephanie J. Block's THIS PLACE I KNOW. Upcoming recordings: Rebecca Luker. Their musical, SIX OF ONE, received aJonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Grant, an ASCAP workshop, a CAP21workshop, and a production in the 2007 Philly Fringe Festival. LOVE SONGS ANDOTHER CRAP, their musical review, received a MAC Award nomination, and theirnew musical, ELLA MINNOW PEA received a production at the University of Michigan last fall.
