Jim Caruso's Cast Party and TheaterMania.com, the leading source for exclusive theater information and live-events tickets nationwide, are proud to announce Klea Blackhurst & Billy Stritch in a concert celebrating the release of their new CD, DREAMING OF A SONG:  THE MUSIC OF HOAGY CARMICHAEL, Monday, June 16, 2008 at 7:00p.m., as part of the long-running, Nightlife Award-winning concert series Broadway at Birdland.

For their new CD on Ghostlight Records, BLACKHURST & STRITCH have mined the Carmichael catalogue to unearth lesser known gems as well as beloved treasures such as "Skylark," "Georgia On My Mind" and "Stardust."

An award-winning composer and performer, Billy Stritch has won international acclaim for his interpretations and passion for the Great American Songbook, a healthy mix of fresh perspective, laid-back humor and expert showmanship. He has produced, arranged for and performed onstage with world-renowned icons including Liza Minnelli,Christine Ebersole, Marilyn Maye and Charles Aznavour, and was a guest conductor for The Rosie O'Donnell Show. As a composer, STRITCH co-penned the 1994 Grammy Award-winning song, "Does He Love You?," recorded by Reba McEntire and Linda Davis, which has sold over four million copies nationwide and was named one of the Top Ten Country Songs of that year. STRITCH is also the winner of the Nashville Music City News Award, a BMI Song of the Year Award and four awards from the Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets.

Klea Blackhurst's theatre credits include Reno Sweeney in the recent production of "Anything Goes"; as well as the role of Debbie, the perpetually enthusiastic drummer in the original Off Broadway production of "Oil City Symphony". BLACKHURST is best known for her acclaimed tribute to Ethel Merman, "Everything the Traffic Will Allow," that has been charming audiences and critics alike nationwide since its New York debut in 2001. Among many accolades, this production earned her the inaugural Special Achievement Award from "Time Out New York" magazine. The recording of Everything the Traffic Will Allow was named one of the top ten show albums of 2002 by Talkin' Broadway.com.
