Becca C. Kidwell discovers her voice through singing and performing as she reprises her cabaret show, "A Song & Its Girl" on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Don't Tell Mama.
"A Song & Its Girl" marks Becca Kidwell's professional cabaret debut after testing the waters in shows at the Metropolitan Room and Don't Tell Mama over the past two years, with the direction of Gretchen Reinhagen and the musical direction of Tracy Stark, both MAC and Bistro Award winners, to share her journey from being a shy, quiet girl to a strong, confident woman and performer with this encore performance of her new show, "A Song & Its Girl" through music from the American Songbook, modern musical theatre, and popular music.
"Becca Kidwell's infectious joy in her music is transcendent. Her emotional connection to each song is palpable and she positively glows as she digs deep into the story she shares through her music," states Bistro, multiple MAC award winner, and Broadway performer, Eric Michael Gillett. Bob Diamond, 2017 MAC Award winner for Best Male Vocalist declares, "There is such joy, truth and love in this amazing first show. I had a smile on my face even when there were tears in my eyes." And these sentiments are affirmed by 2017 MAC Hanson Award winner, Ira Lee Collings who states, "Becca Kidwell touched us with her warmth and winning ways. A wonderful debut!"
Becca Kidwell reprises her show about her journey to become a singer and connect with others after its successful premiere in April. Becca has sung in various showcases and group shows including: Kiddie Kabaret, Don't Speak: A Benefit for the Center for Reproductive Rights (which she also produced), and Seth's Talent Showcase. Last year, she produced and performed a benefit cabaret on her birthday called, "Oh Fudge! I'm Forty!" Becca has sung in choruses in school and church since she was a child, but this show declares her newfound vocation as a cabaret singer.
