Small Pond Entertainment and Stephanie Rosenberg bring Broadway Meows: a benefit concert for the Humane Society of New York to Don't Tell Mama, one night only, Monday, July 20th at 7pm.
The evening will feature the songs of composer/ lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh. Bisen-Hersh will be joined on stage by a stellar cast including Brian Childers (Helen Hayes Award Winner, Danny & Sylvia), Jenna Coker-Jones (Evil Dead), Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Danny & Sylvia), Westley Todd Holiday, Autumn Hurlbert (Legally Blonde), Christopher Kale Jones (Jersey Boys), Caitlin Kinnunen (Spring Awakening), Mary Orzano, Zach Reiner-Harris (Spring Awakening), Brandon Ruckdashel (Ascension) and Darryl Winslow (Evil Dead).
The audience can expect to hear 16 songs from Bisen-Hersh's catalog featuring world premieres from his new musicals, More to Love and Stanley's Adventures (premiering at Manhattan Children's Theatre, spring 2010). The evening will be compromised of pet themed songs as well as songs about New York and relationship hardships - things that pets help to fill the void of. Songs will include "So You Wanna be Feline", "The Fag Hag Lament", "I'd Rather Take a Nap", "This is Awkward", "I Like Big Girls!" and the popular youtube hit, "Hey!".
All the proceeds for the evening will go to the Humane Society of New York, which has "cared for animals in need when illness, injury or homelessness strikes" for over 100 years. The Humane Society saved Bisen-Hersh's cat, Smee's, life this winter, and this benefit is his way of saying thanks.
