Celebrate 50 Years of Motown with Dr. K's Motown Revue. This outstanding band of musicians and singers takes you on a very realistic journey of the Motown sound, and makes you want to sing along on every familiar song they play. They have kept the Motown sound true to its roots and each and every performance they do transports you back to another era . . . what a ride!
Their appeal in large part is attributable to the perfect blend of the Motown era costumes worn and the outstanding group of singers who compliment this latter day "Funk Brothers" type band of musicians. Each singer is quite capable of fronting any band as a soloist and the combination of singers is more than enough to deliver authentically the vocal sound of the Motown roster of artists from that time.
"Dr. K's Motown Revue is the most authentic Motown band since the original Funk Bros...It is a great treat for me to perform with them." - Alan Slutsky, consummate musician, composer, and author of the hit movie "Standing In The Shadows of Motown."
Green released her first album A Love Story, featuring the hit "Emotional Rollercoaster", in November 2002. Three years later she released her second album Vivian which featured the hit first single "Gotta Go, Gotta Leave (Tired)".
In 2004 she appeared on the De-Lovely Soundtrack singing Love for Sale and had a cameo in the movie. She also appeared on NBC's American Dreams as Brenda Holloway, singing her version of Holloway's hit "Every Little Bit Hurts".
In 2005 she appeared on Cyndi Lauper's The Body Acoustics CD singing I'll Be Your River and Sisters Of Avalon.
In 2007 she appeared on Guru's album Jazzmatazz, Vol. 4: The Hip-Hop Jazz Messenger: Back to the Future on the track "Free and Fine".
Ronnie's catalog of holiday hits include the definitive rock & roll versions of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", "Sleigh Ride" and "Frosty The Snowman"; the last 2 recordings being the top 15 most played holiday songs on the radio for the past 5 years according to Ascap.
Rolling Stone calls her "the original bad girl of rock," but this year Ronnie Spector has been very nice. The iconic singer who has influenced generations of musicians from the Beatles and BrIan Wilson, to Patti Smith and the Ramones, through to Amy Winehouse and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, - and recorded some of the most indelible holiday music of all time along the way - is set to release a new collection 'Ronnie Spector's Best Christmas Ever,' on November 9, via Bad Girl Sounds/The Orchard.
'Best Christmas Ever' features five rare holiday gems destined to become contemporary classics. Ronnie recorded four tracks under the guidance of Bobby Eli - the famed Philadelphia producer, songwriter and founding member of MFSB - and the fifth song with producer Johnny Gale (Ryan Shaw/Robert Randolph), with contributions from her long-time touring musicians, bassist Jeremy Chatzky (Bruce Springsteen's Seeger Sessions Band, Steve Earle) and keyboardist Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs, Ryan Adams), among others.
'Best Christmas Ever' is imbued with Ronnie's deeply felt and vividly recounted holiday memories from her childhood in New York City. "These songs recapture the original feelings of Christmas I had growing up," Spector says. "The minute I got into that studio I knew these were going to be my new Christmas hits."
And she should know. Spector's group The Ronnettes released the definitive versions of "Frosty the Snowman," "Sleigh Ride," and "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" in 1963, and they've dominated the holiday airwaves ever since ("Sleigh Ride" and "Frosty" are among ASCAP's Top 20 most played Christmas songs of the past five years). As the New York Times has observed "It's hard to think of a more appealing angel to welcome the season than Ms. Spector."

The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime's music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime's essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does.

Established by Coney Island, USA in 1985, where else would you find the world's first professional non-profit theatre dedicated to keeping alive the American sideshow? Billed as the only "ten-in-one" sideshow still in existence in North America (the term refers the number of acts that can be seen for a single price).
The ten-in-one circus sideshow is another Coney Island gift to culture along with other Brooklyn beach inventions like the hot dog and the roller coaster.
Thurs. December 30th (Late Show)Denson took this formula to the next level by putting more emphasis on vocals and adding some funk, R&B and hip hop elements. It turned out to be a winning combination, which set KDTU on the top of the heap in the touring world from 1999 through 2005, selling over 250,000 records to date. My style is based in dance shares Denson. I love the idea of creating something that naturally makes people want to move. KDTU has headlined and performed at US Festivals including Bonnaroo, Bumbershoot, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, All Good Music Festival, Wakarusa Music Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival and many more. Global festival appearances include the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, North Sea Jazz festival in Holland, Moscow Jazz Festival in Russia, East Coast Blues and Roots Festival in Australia and the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland. Karl Densons Tiny Universe has shared the stage with acts as diverse as Jack Johnson, DAngelo, James Brown, Dave Matthews Band, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Allman Brothers, Keene and Maroon 5.
Densons latest release, Brothers Keeper, continues his artistic evolution fusing sounds from Rock to Funk to Afrobeat. Meshell Ndegeocello (bass) and Marc Ford (guitar, Black Crowes, Ben Harper) are just some of the special guests on the album. Denson notes, I'm not one to live in the past. I am very much a forward thinker. Brothers Keeper is a continuation of my general worldview, which is that we should be loving each other, having fun and taking care of one another. He concludes, This record is the culmination of all my lifes work up until now

Chuck Berry's music has transcended generations. He earns respect to this day because he is truly an entertainer. Berry gained success by watching the audience's reaction and playing accordingly, putting his listeners' amusement above all else. For this reason, tunes like "Johnny B. Goode," "Maybellene" and "Memphis" have become anthems to an integrated American youth and popular culture. Berry is a musical icon who established rock and roll as a musical form and brought the worlds of black and white together in song.
