After wowing the audience at her sold-out premiere in November, actress and singer Ann Kittredge returns to the legendary Metropolitan Room for two more performances this spring with her show Ann Kittredge: It's About Time. The show-a unique storytelling journey, featuring many of Kittredge's musical theatre favorites-will play on Tuesday, March 7 at 7pm and again on Saturday, April 1 at 4pm at the Metropolitan Room, located at 34 West 22nd Street in Manhattan.

Audiences may recognize Ann from her numerous Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional theatre appearances over the years. After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on her children-and all the volunteer opportunities that entailed-she returns to the theatre in this joyful and musically rich collaboration with Musical Director and longtime friend, Wendy Bobbitt Cavett.

It's About Time represents the cabaret debut for both Kittredge and Cavett. The duo has put together a remarkable representation of songs from the musical theatre repertoire that spans the years, emphasizing the unique, the unknown, and the story-telling dramatic nature that Ann loves to express. Ann and Wendy are also thrilled to welcome bassist Mary Ann McSweeney to join them at these performances.

Kittredge's husband Bob claims he has "been married to at least three different women, but they are all Ann." One thing is for sure: Ann answers to the beat of her own drum-and the orchestra's drum when it matters. Whether a song evokes lunacy, love, longing, curiosity, challenge or deep awakening, Ann's greatest passion is interpreting its nuance and lighting up an audience's face with recognition of a shared experience.

Regarding the show's title, Kittredge chose It's About Time, because nothing has ever fulfilled Ann more than storytelling, and it's been too long since she stepped away from the stage to raise her children. It's about time for her to explore the art form of cabaret as a solo artist, it's about time some of the music she has selected be shared with an audience, it's about time her children experienced her passion and dedication to something she loves (other than them).

Kittredge hopes that audiences will come to her show and "leave with a smile or a conversation, or be transported to another place. I want people to laugh, cry, even heckle a little-and join me in writing this new chapter of my life."

Ann Kittredge: It's About Time will play two nights at the Metropolitan Room, on March 7 at 7pm and April 1 at 4pm. Proceeds from the April 1 show will benefit the Student Youth Foundation, an organization that impacts underserved students and youth through travel experiences that change their lives. Additional dates to be announced. Tickets are available at www.metropolitanroom.com.

Ann Kittredge has enjoyed a wonderfully varied career: Broadway, off Broadway, workshops of new shows (oh, sooooo many!), regional theatre, the traditional NYC TV guest spots, independent film, mom, youth theater director and coach, inter-generational choir. All punctuated by rewarding collaborations with such gifted individuals like Ted Sperling, Wendy Bobbitt Cavett, Larry Carpenter, Mel Shapiro, Susan Stroman, BT McNicholl, Jack Going, Michael Ockrent, Steven Flaherty, Lynn Ahrens, Kathleen Marshall, Chuck Morey, John Rando, Martin Platt, Walter Bobbie, Paul Gemignani, Rob Marshall, Alan Menken, Steven Lutvak, Horton Foote, and all her fellow cast members and students through the years. They've provided the memories of a lifetime and the impetus and material for her return to the stage, Ann Kittredge: It's About Time. For portfolio and theatre reviews, visit www.annkittredge.com.
