ANDREA MARCOVCCI - the singer and actress hailed as "torch singer, spellbinder, heart-breaker" by People - will debut at 54 Below this fall for two shows only on November 17 and 18 at 7:00 PM ~ the second night is her birthday celebration! This marks the east coast debut of Let's Get Lost. Created with her with her fans in mind, it pays homage to her favorites: Audrey Hepburn ("Two for the Road") and Fred Astaire ("I Won't Dance"/ "Fine Romance"), along with, of course, torch songs like "Say It Isn't So," plus classic crowd-pleasers "These Foolish Things" and "That Old Black Magic." Andrea also puts her own spin on a comic Broadway number and a modern chart topper. Two special songs allow her to honor both her 96-year old mother ("Smoke Gets in Your Eyes") and her 20-year old daughter ("New Words") reflecting on her life as a second-generation torch singer, following in her mother's footsteps. Marcovicci will be joined by her longtime Musical Director Shelly Markham on piano and Jered Egan on Bass. There will be a preview performance at the new Rrazz Room at the Prince in Philadelphia, PA on November 15 for their inaugural season.
"Let's Get Lost is not only a way to honor the Hollywood legends that return us to a world of loveliness and grace, but also to perform some of my favorite songs and ones the audience has told me are their favorites. I am so happy to debut this program at 54 Below, which is, of course, a beautiful and swellegant room!"
Andrea holds the record of an unprecedented 25 seasons at the legendary Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel, and was the final performer ever to grace that stage. In recent seasons, she has appeared at The Café Carlyle and Joe's Pub at the Public Theater. In a career spanning over four decades, Andrea has created over thirty nightclub acts, has sold out Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, Lincoln Center, and appeared in concert with numerous orchestras and at the White House. She has acted in films, television and theatre, both regionally and on and off-Broadway. Her co-stars have included Danny DeVito, Woody Allen, Sir Michael Caine, and Sir John Gielgud, among others.
