FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its 10th Anniversary with award-winning actress, Andréa Burns Monday, May 4. As part of "The Actors Fund Broadway Series" Ms. Burns will sing tunes from her new CD, A Deeper Shade of Red including musical theater and pop tunes from Joni Mitchell's "Chelsea Morning" to Sondheim's "What More Do I Need." "It's an eclectic evening," says Burns, "I celebrate my heroes, which include female singer/songwriters of the 1970's, my Latina mom, my Jewish dad, and quite frankly, Elaine Stritch." All admission proceeds will go directly to the assistance of professionals in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.
ANDRÉA BURNS began her career touring the opera houses of Europe as Maria in West Side Story and is currently starring on Broadway as Daniela in In The Heights for which she won the 2008 Drama Desk Award. Her other Broadway credits include Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast and Vicki Nichols in The Full Monty. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in Saturday Night, Sail Away! and Songs for a New World. She has also starred in the national tours of Parade and The Full Monty, and her regional credits include 1776, Oklahoma!, Evita and West Side Story. She has appeared in concerts at Carnegie Hall and many other symphonic halls across the country and can be heard on the original cast recordings of Songs for A New World, Saturday Night, Shine, Broadway Bound, The Broadway Musicals of 1953, and It's Only Life as well as her debut solo album A Deeper Shade of Red.
FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present ANDRÉA BURNS with "THE ACTORS FUND BROADWAY SERIES" on Monday, May 4. The show begins at 8:30 PM. There will be a $40 cover with special $60 premium seats available, in addition to a $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required.
