Celebrated singer and comedian Amber Martin embarks on a bi-monthly year-long performance residency at Joe's Pub at The Public with her newest show The Days of My Lives on Tuesday, August 12 at 9:30PM (doors 9:00PM). Over the course of her year at the Pub, she will showcase new material and characters, recounting her 30 year journey from the bayou in Southeast Texas to the Downtown bustle of New York. Tickets are $15, and available now online: www.joespub.com, by phone (212-967-7555) or in person at The Public Theater Box Office (425 Lafayette, NYC). Further residency dates are to be announced.

Martin has been described by The New Yorker "a powerful woman whose heightened sense of the ridiculous goes head to head with her distinctly American voice." The Days of My Lives highlights her truly prodigious talents and incomparable storytelling. She will lead her audience through a bizarre visitation to the places and faces, the memories and music that shaped her life. This multi-media, story-based performance will travel from Martin's childhood family shindigs on the bayou to her awkward pre-pubescent church camp make-out sessions set to the music of Amy Grant to being crowned 1986 Heritage Festival Tulip Queen.

Amber Martin is a celebrated vocalist, dancer and comedic monologist based in New York City. Martin is known for creating worlds of original characters, each with a unique back-story. Through these characters, Martin shows her broad vocal range as well as her vast knowledge of music and pop culture history. Writing, curating and starring in her own shows, Martin has been lauded by The New York Times as "pitch-perfect and multi-talented, seamlessly float(ing) between multiple costumes, personae and skits, never once leaving the stage, and carrying the calm of a seasoned performer."

Born and raised in the bayou country near Port Arthur, Texas, Martin was exposed at an early age to a wide range of music and swampland cultures. As a child, she sang with her family in churches all over Southeast Texas, honing her talents as a multi-octave range vocalist. She headlined the Gulf Coast Hall of Fame's Annual Janis Joplin Birthday Bash four times, performing alongside Johnny Winter. In Portland, Oregon she established House of Cunt*, a new-genre musical performance group, which swept Portland's avant-garde arts scene, including the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, and helped established her as an award-winning solo artist in her own right (2003 Portland Drammy Award for Best Solo Artist).

Martin has performed with Joan Rivers, Sandra Bernhard, Karen Black, Joyce Dewitt, Justin Bond, and The Scissor Sisters, appearing as a featured vocalist on their album Magic Hour (Polydor). She was also featured in Jonathan Caouette's new film Walk Away Renee and appeared on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice for two seasons.
