Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the new performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond …

Debbie Gravitte, Nov. 5 at 7PM:
A Tony-winner for her star turn in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Debbie Gravitte has wowed Broadway audiences in They’re Playing Our Song, Blues in the Night, Ain’t Broadway Grand, Zorba, Chicago and Les Miserables. This Fall, come see why symphony audiences around the world leap to their feet when she guest stars with some of the world’s leading ?orchestras as the sublime Debbie Gravitte returns to the cabaret stage in a brand new show, making her 54 Below debut for two special performances only. Cover charge: $30-$40. $25 food and beverage minimum.

Alton Fitzgerald White, Nov. 5 at 9:30PM:
Known for his long run as Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway, we’re pleased to celebrate the release of Alton White’s new CD, featuring brand new arrangements of treasured Disney favorites. Included are his own take on classics such as Feed the Birds (Mary Poppins) and A Whole New World (Aladdin), as well as more contemporary tunes from the ?Disney catalogue, including Fortune Favors the Brave (Aida), Strangers Like Me (Tarzan), and even the lesser known, The Long, Long Day, (King David). Listening to these selections all together is like spending an evening with old friends - we hope you’ll be among them when Alton takes to the 54 Below stage this Fall. Cover charge $20-30. $25 food and beverage minimum.

ELECTION NIGHT, Nov. 6 at 5:30PM:
The Agony & The Ecstasy - Will it be Obama and Biden? Romney and Ryan? Will the Democrats hold on to their Senate majority? Will Republicans hold their seats in the house? Red states, blue states, victory speeches and concession speeches… join us at 54 Below to watch the Election Night results come in on our large-screen televisions. Enjoy delicious food from Chef Andre Marrero and raise a celebratory glass (or drown your sorrows) with a cocktail from the bar. No Cover charge. No minimum. Doors open at 5:30PM

Liz Callaway, Nov. 7-10 at 8:30PM, Nov. 9 & 10 at 11PM, Nov. 11 at 9PM:
Tony Nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer and recording artist Liz Callaway takes to our stage for seven very special performances only. She made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Baby, and for five years, won acclaim as Grizabella in Cats. Liz also starred in the original casts of Miss Saigon, The Look of Love and The Spitfire Grill, and provided the singing voice for numerous animated features including the Oscar-nominated Anastasia. With a busy concert career that takes her throughout the world, New York audiences are fortunate indeed to have her in residence this Fall! Cover charge $30-40. $25 food and beverage minimum.

Barbara Carroll, Nov. 11 at 1PM:
54 Below is honored to welcome jazz legend Barbara Carroll to our stage performing during our jazz brunches. In 1947, Leonard Feather dubber her “the first girl ever to play bebop piano.” In a career that has spanned more than half a century (she played her first New York engagement opposite Dizzy Gillespie’s big band at the Downbeat Club in 1947), Ms. Carroll is an elegant jazz pianist, composer and vocalist, long recognized as one of the premier players of swinging jazz piano. Her inventive piano playing and totally unique vocal sound leads her into transforming any composition into her own art with her trademark emotional directness and respect for the tune, its lyrics and its many possibilities. Says Stephen Holden in The New York Times, “Barbara Carroll is about as good as it gets!” Cover charge $30-40. $25 food and beverage minimum.

Mark Nadler, Nov. 11 at 6PM:
In his most personal show, I'm A Stranger Here Myself, internationally acclaimed cabaret entertainer Mark Nadler explores the depths of the European expatriate experience. Using all songs by German and French songwriters who composed during the years of the Weimar Republic, Nadler examines the lives of these composers as well as those of ordinary German citizens caught up in the most intriguing and emotionally charged period of the Twentieth Century. Cover charge $25-35. $25 food and beverage minimum.

54 BELOW, Broadway’s nightclub, is the new performance venue in the grand tradition of New York City nightlife. A few blocks from the heart of Times Square and just below the legendary Studio 54, 54 BELOW is a classically designed state-of-the art nightclub in the theatre district that hosts audiences with warmth and style.

Designed by Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty and architect Richard Lewis, lit by Tony Award winner Ken Billington, and with sound by Tony Award nominee Peter Hylenski, 54 BELOW features an in-your-living-room intimate relationship between its performers and audiences. Tony Award winner Scott Wittman serves as Creative Consultant and MAC Award Winner Phil Geoffrey Bond serves as Director of Programming. André J. Marrero is the Executive Chef of the new venue, which provides a food and beverage menu from early evening through the wee hours of the morning that is worthy of the world-class entertainment on the stage. Bringing together his love of the arts with his passion for cooking and hospitality, Chef André has created a market driven contemporary bistro menu that includes ingredients sourced from all over the world.

54 BELOW is owned and operated by Tony Award winning producers Tom Viertel, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel, and Steven Baruch. 54 BELOW features up to three shows nightly and has audio and video recording capabilities. The cover charge ranges from $5-$85.
