54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, will present Nonbinary Finery on Friday, June 7, one night only! This brand-new concert features an all nonbinary and gender non-conforming cast sharing their own stories and experiences through song and speech. Featuring music from all across the musical spectrum (Broadway, pop, folk, and more) and a cast of rising stars, Nonbinary Finery highlights both the importance and impact of queer voices, specifically those that transcend beyond the binary. Join the cast in celebrating the best time of year with an evening of heartfelt and inspirational storytelling!
The cast will feature Jade Amber (she/her, Pretty Woman 1st national tour), Sarah Burke (he/they, Lincoln Center's A Celebration of Herman, Menken & Sondheim), Jonathan Chisolm (they/them, Disney's The Little Mermaid), Yan-Carlos Diaz (he/she, The Invocation of Selena), Katryna Marttala (they/them, Trans-pose @ 54 Below), Rhiannon Nichelle (she/they, NYC Drag Star), Ezra Noel (they/them, Xena: Warrior Musical), Cesario Tirado-Ortiz (they/he/it, 54 Goes Horror!), and Donté Wilder (he/she, RENT at Paper Mill Playhouse). The creative team consists of Producer/Director Sarah Burke and Music Director James Rushin (he/she, Freestyle Love Supreme).
Nonbinary Finery plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Friday, June 7th at 9:30pm. Cover charges are $34.50 (includes $4.50 in fees) - $45.50 (includes $5.50 in fees). VIP seating is $56.50 (includes $6.50 in fees) and Premiums are $78.50 (includes $8.50 in fees). There is a $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.org. Producer Sarah Burke (he/they) is a multi-hyphenate visual & performing artist. His performing and producing acts have been critically-acclaimed on such platforms as Cabaret Scenes and Theater Pizzazz. Past performers of Burke's shows have accrued credits from television ("Severance," CBS, Nickelodeon) and stage (Lincoln Center, Town Hall, 54 Below). They continuously strive to create work that highlights queer & trans storytelling, all while making theatre more accessible to all.
54 Below, a recipient of the 2022 TONY AWARDS Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, is a non-profit organization with a mission to preserve the music of Broadway and expand the art of the cabaret while growing opportunities for diverse communities of emerging and established artists and providing unparalleled audience experiences.
It was founded as a place for the Broadway community to celebrate Broadway performers, both established and new, who sing not only the music of Broadway and the Great American Songbook, but also new material intended for Broadway and off-Broadway stages. One of the most in demand venues in the city presenting over 700 shows per year, the club features fine dining and superb scenic, lighting, and sound designs entirely imagined by Broadway designers. For performers, writers, musicians, and more, 54 Below gives opportunities to advance their craft, expand their repertoires, and develop their voices in a way that is more personal, making them stronger as artists. It gives Broadway fans an opportunity to see their favorite artists in a different way, deepening their relationship and understanding of their talent.
54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work. It is also a place for innovation in musical songwriting and performance. Collaborations born at 54 Below give rise to and help develop new theatrical projects and new musicals. In addition, its popular streaming video activities and audio recordings support these activities, helping to build a new Broadway audience worldwide, both in age and geography.
