The Laurie Beechman Theatre will welcome two of Broadway's most esteemed performers - Alison Fraser and Mary Testa (with special guest, Annie Golden), for two very special performances as part of our celebrated Voices from the Great White Way Series. After two previous sold out performances The Laurie Beechman has added two more chances to see Testa and Fraser: Monday, November 10 @ 7pm and Monday, November 24 @ 10pm.
There is a $25 cover, as well as a $15 food or beverage minimum (a full bar and dinner menu is available). Accompanied by a four piece band led by Allison Leyton-Brown, the evenings will feature music written by songwriter Rusty Magee. Audiences can expect to hear tunes from Magee's musicals The Green Heart (written with Charles Busch) and The Czar of Rock and Roll (written with Lewis Black), as well as Magee's iconic New York ballad, New York Romance.Alison Fraser is currently appearing in the acclaimed Broadway revival of Arthur Laurents' Gypsy as Tessie Tura. Other Broadway credits include The Secret Garden (Tony and Drama Desk nominations), Romance/Romance (Tony nomination), Tartuffe, Born Again and The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams, March of the Falsettos, In Trousers, Prodigal, The Green Heart, Beehive, Todd Rundgren's Up Against It and Swingtime Canteen. American premieres: Lizzie Borden, Honk! and High School Musical. Regionally, Ms. Fraser's credits include Lips Together, Teeth Apart, Lend Me a Tenor and Gunmetal Blues (first Barrymore Award recipient).
