For the first time ever, popular New York comic Adam Sank stars in his own cabaret show, complete with songs, comedy and humiliating childhood stories, at the legendary Duplex Cabaret Theatre in "Mama, I Want to Sing Showtunes!" tonight, June 19 and Friday, June 27th at 7 p.m.
Sank will share such terrifying-but-true tales as:
** That time in 7th grade he got up in front of the entire school at morning assembly and sang "Corner of the Sky" - a cappella and off-key.
** His world-renowned appearance as Magaldi in the 1987 Kent Place School for Girls production of "Evita."
** How a bathroom stall and a fraternity brother finally led him out of the closet.
** How Last Comic Standing almost made him famous... but didn't.
And more!
With special guest singer/actress Erika Amato, fresh off the national tour of "Flashdance." Directed by Maria Gentile (MAC Award winner). Musical direction and performance by Michael Isaacs (MAC Award Nominee).
