Actress and Comic Nicky Sunshine To Present CONFESSIONS at WOW Cafe Theater

Actress / comedian Nicky Sunshine brings an encore performance of her solo comedic show "Confessions of A Massage Parlor Madam" back to the WOW Café Theater (59-61 E. 4th Street) in Manhattan on Sunday, March 31st. Produced by Comedy With A Purpose, tickets to the 3:00pm performance are $20.00 in advance, $25.00 at the door. Discounted $10.00 tickets will be available for seniors and students with ID. The 60-minute "Confessions," which is directed by Chuck Burks is described by Nicky as "a funny, poignant look at the period she spent as a sex worker upon arriving in New York in 2002." The show - which contains adult themes, language and content - received great reviews at its 2016 premiere in Harlem and has been performed in front of, sold out houses at The Producers Club, Broadway Comedy Club and National Black Theatre in Manhattan. Performances were held at the WOW Café in June 2018 and February 2019.

"We're presenting "Confessions" again as it contains messages that need to be heard and touches on timely, thought and discussion-provoking subjects," says Nicky of the upcoming Womens History Month performance. "I've made some poor choices because I didn't think I was worthy or good enough to have what I really wanted in life. This is my true life and I'm glad' I'm still living to tell it. A Virginia native who graduated from Northwestern University, Nicky has performed in numerous productions including the acclaimed play "Yo Soy Latina," originated the role of Samana in the hit play "Platanos & Collard Greens" and most recently starred in "The Vagina Monologues" at New World Stages. She has also starred in and produced several comedy shows in major NYC venues such as the Times Square Arts Center, Stand-Up NY & New York Comedy Club and most recently Harlem's famed Apollo Theatre. Her reality show "A Question of Love" aired on Tuesdays on the FYI Network. "Let's Get Greedy!" - Nicky's weekly adventures as a comedic food critic searching for food and fun in New York City is broadcast weekly on Friday evenings @ 11pm (EST) on Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN).
