ANYBODYS EVERYBODY Premieres At The Duplex Today Image

Madame's Soiree and The Duplex Development Stage proudly present the World Premiere of Anybodys Everybody: One Girl's West Side Story on June 21st, at 7pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. The show is written and performed by Mary Theresa Archbold, and is the culmination of her Denovan Residencey Grant, a 6 month Developmental Grant jointly administered by Madame's Soiree and The Duplex for Original Solo Work in cabaret.

Anybodys Everybody: One Girl's West Side Story is a cry for help. After 61 years trapped in the of the most iconic musicals of all time, unsure of her purpose, Anybodys appeals to the only person who can free her from the cycle of tragedy, violence and (something funny): Mr. Stephen Sondheim. While a performance continues onstage, Anybodys - you know, the little girl who wants to be a Jet, fights for her freedom from Musical Theater. Would anybody notice if Anybodys is gone? Or is she more important to West Side Story than she thinks she is? Mary Theresa Archbold pulls from her many, many performances in this tangential role to set the record straight for the character she was born to play.
