Absinthe, A Broadway Cabaret, LLC, has announced its Nashville premiere performance in The Hermitage Hotel's Grand Ballroom on Friday November 15, 2013 at 8:00pm. Doors open at 7:30. Headlining is, Liza Minnelli's accompanist, musical director and protégé, Johnny Rodgers, also known as, The Ambassador of American Music, and local favorite Stephanie Adlington, star of Always Patsy Cline.

The art of Cabaret was established in Paris in the late 1800's and distinguished as an elegant yet casual venue that offered an intimate setting for audiences to interact with performers at close range. Performances were hosted by a master of ceremonies while guests enjoyed dinner and cocktails.

Due to the rising popularity of rock concerts, television variety shows and Comedy Clubs, cabarets saw a decline in the 1960's. American Cabaret is presently undergoing a resurgence of interest in the US. A new generation of performers, mostly today's Broadway stars, are reinterpreting a combination of original music as well as old standards. An audience of several generations is seeking out this reimagined form of entertainment.

"I love the cabarets I visit when I'm in New York and wanted to bring this art form to Nashville. Providing our residents as well as visitors with true Broadway cabaret entertainment further broadens our city's distinction as Music City USA," states Carolan Trbovich, CEO and Executive Producer. "Pairing our local country and gospel artists with Broadway performers adds an element of diversity unique only to Nashville," she adds.

The Hermitage Hotel, Nashville's century old luxury hotel makes a stunning venue for an exceptional evening of incomparable entertainment. A cash bar and hors d'oeuvres for purchase will be available for guests.
