A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returns to the Catalina Jazz Club in the heart of Hollywood for its latest showcase of emerging musical theater creators and performers from near and far. Since 2013, ALNM has introduced over 150 songs to its LA audience, featuring the best new musical theatre writing from Broadway and beyond. On Monday, November 14th, ALNM presents its final LA engagement of the year.
The concert features guest writer appearances from Jonathan Larson Grant recipient, Matt Gould (INVISIBLE THREAD), who will share a sneak peek of his new musical LEMPICKA; and LA's own multi-talented writer-actor-music director Zach Spound, who will return to ALNM to perform a world premiere song from his original musical, LEAP. Acclaimed musical improvisation company Robot Teammate & The Accidental Party (winners of ALNM's 2016 Hollywood Fringe Award for Outstanding Songwriting) will share a song from last summer's THUG TUNNEL, and improvise a second number on the spot! Featured writers will also include: Drew Fornarola (CLAUDIO QUEST, TIANANMEN), Rona Siddiqui (ONE GOOD DAY), and Michael R. Jackson (A STRANGE LOOP), with more to be announced soon.
Comedian, actress, and writer Chris Farah ("Superstore," "Modern Family," "Chelsea Lately," solo show/cult character FANCY!) returns to host the evening alongside 2-time Ovation Award-winning musical director and writer Gregory Nabours (THE TROUBLE WITH WORDS, Kennedy Center's "ASCAP: Broadway: Today and Tomorrow") and the ALNM band.
