NYC cabaret hotspot 54 Below is set to tribute internationally celebrated music icon Tina Turner with a brand new concert event titled SIMPLY THE BEST: 54 SINGS TINA TURNER tonight.

The official description of SIMPLY THE BEST: 54 SINGS TINA TURNER is as follows: "54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Cheryl Freeman, Jack Noseworthy and more in "SIMPLY THE BEST: 54 Sings Tina Turner" on Wednesday, July 29th at 7pm & 9:30pm. Tina Turner's life story is showbiz legend. Her career is musical gold. 54 Below is proud to celebrate the woman who climbed to the top of the charts before taking a fall and fighting her way back to even greater heights. From "Proud Mary" to "Private Dancer," Tina Turner is "Simply the Best." The former Anna Mae Bullock from the Nutbush City Limits in Tennessee is the winner of eight Grammy Awards and the most successful female rock artist of all time. Producer/director Scott Coulter and a cast of Broadway and cabaret stars honor the The Queen of Rock and Roll as they ask and answer the musical question "What's Love Got to Do With It?"

The cast for "SIMPLY THE BEST: 54 Sings Tina Turner" features some of Broadway and cabaret's best vocalists including Jack Noseworthy (The Sweet Smell of Success), Cheryl Freeman (The Who's TOMMY), Jessica Hendy (CATS, Aida), Brian Wilson (The King: The Music of Elvis), Brian Charles Rooney (Bedbugs), Tyce Green (54 Sings CHESS), Scott Coulter (A Christmas Carol: The Concert (PBS), Carole J. Bufford (Shades of Blue), Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby), Natalie Douglas (multi-award winning vocalist) and vocal sensation Debra Dean. Musical director will be MAC Award-winner Steven Ray Watkins. Jordan Jancz on bass and Danny Mallon on drums will round out the band. "SIMPLY THE BEST: 54 Sings Tina Turner" plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Wednesday, July 29th at 7pm & 9:30pm. There is a $35-$75 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum.
