The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs has announced the 30th Annual MAC Awards. The awards presentation and show will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 7:30pm, at BB King Blues Club & Grill on 42nd Street in New York City.
MAC's three special honorees of the evening will include multiple award-winning cabaret performer, recording artist, and songwriter AMANDA McBROOM, who will be presented by MAC with a Lifetime Achievement Award and perform live at the show.
In addition, MAC is pleased to honor MARYANN LOPINTO with MAC's Board of Directors Award. Maryann has been a tireless volunteer for the cabaret and theater communities for many years, and has photographed virtually all MAC events for more than the past decade. MAC is delighted to be able to present Maryann with this very well-deserved recognition.
MAC is also very pleased to honor JAMIE deROY, who will be presented with the Ruth Kurtzman Benefit Show Award for her long-running shows, Jamie deRoy & friends. These shows are a benefit for her new signature program, The Actors Fund: Jamie deRoy and Friends Cabaret Initiative, a program created to assist people working in the cabaret industry who seek help for medical needs and concerns made available through the comprehensive services and programs at The Actors Fund.
The MAC Awards show will feature many live performances by the winners of the vocalist categories of the MAC Awards. The winners will be announced live at the show. The Musical Director for the show will be MATT BAKER, who will lead the MAC Awards Band. LENNIE WATTS is the Director, and JULIE MILLER is the Producer. The Stage Manager is AMY WOLK. The MAC Awards show is open to the public.
