After recently announcing over 200 hours of original programming, Ovation, America's only arts network, has additionally acquired all episodes of critically acclaimed series SMASH from NBCUniversal Cable & New Media.

In an interview with EW.com, executive producer Joshua Safran, who replaced the series creator Theresa Rebeck, reveals what he had planned for the series if it had the opportunity to return this fall.

According to Deadline.com, SMASH's Katharine McPhee will be starring in the upcoming thriller Depravity, directed by Paul Tamasy with a script by Dennis Lehane.

Sunday's series finale of SMASH scored a 0.5 in the Adults 18-49 demographic, an increase of 25 percent from a 0.4 for its most recent episode on May 11. Overall the episode delivered 2.43 million viewers.

The 'Opening Night' episode of NBC's Broadway drama 'SMASH' (airing Saturday, April 20 at 9PM-10PM EST/PST) will include the Actors' Equity Association iconic Gypsy Robe ceremony, an honor bestowed to a member of a Broadway chorus with the most Broadway musical chorus or ensemble show credits.
