ole, the world's fastest growing independent rights management company, has announced the eight finalists who will perform live at the inaugural on the spot competition during CCMA Country Music Week on September 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Dome in Halifax, NS.
"ole is proud of our on the spot finalists and looking forward to watching them perform live at the event," said John Ozier, GM of Nashville Creative at ole. "on the spot will bolster our already successful artist development efforts and provide a massive career boost for our winner."
The finalists will perform an original song in front of a panel of expert judges from ole's Nashville Creative staff along with ole songwriter April Geesbreght. The winner will receive a deal with ole's successful artist development program that includes music publishing, EP recording production, YouTube audio?visual management, and support from ole's world?class creative staff, a total value of up to $40,000. The program has already led to major-label deals for ole songwriters Josh Dorr and Charlie Worsham, and others such as Sam Grow and Haley Reinhart are currently being developed.
The event will kick off with a live performance from ole songwriter and Sony artist Gord Bamford, who is nominated for six CCMA Awards this year, including Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Video of the Year, and Record Producer of the Year as well as the 2015 Fans' Choice Award.
The full list of finalists can be found below.
Each finalist was required to submit two YouTube videos through the ole on the spot website: one in which they played an original composition and another in which they performed a cover of a song from the ole catalog. A panel of experts then selected the Top 8 to perform live at the event.
