iVillage, one of the largest online communities for women, has named dynamic digital industry leader, Jonathan Hills, to the newly created position of Vice President of Brand Experience, Product Development and Operations for the site. Hills, who begins with iVillage October 29th, will report to Jodi Kahn, President of iVillage.
At iVillage, Hills will be responsible for building new ways to deliver content and services to iVillage’s female audience on all platforms, including building new interactive tools, content features, and social experiences for consumers and advertisers.
Hills was most recently General Manager of AllYou.com, Time Inc.’s digital offering for “value-driven” shoppers. In this role he oversaw new product development, strategic partnerships, content strategy, audience growth, and social media experiences. While there, Hills brought a series of new product innovations to market, including the brand’s first digital video experience, as well as led growth across a variety of social platforms.
“Jonathan’s extensive knowledge of digital combined with his creativity is exactly what we need to continue to find new avenues into our audience’s needs – solutions and inspiration they can use in their daily life – while keeping focus on how to maximize our advertisers’ goals,” said Kahn. “The digital world changes so rapidly, and Jonathan is recognized industry-wide as someone who not only anticipates the ‘next big thing,’ but also has the acumen to innovate and strategize ahead of that.”
Known for his ability to astutely translate an understanding of his consumer into audience growth, Hills has been credited for achieving triple-digit traffic increase during his stint as General Manager of Reader’s Digest Digital (2008-2010), where he also launched their first global website platform that could be used by 50+ businesses within the company. Between 2002-2006, Hills also pioneered digital at History.com (part of A&E Television Networks) when he launched the brand’s first online video product and award-winning multi-player game franchise.
In between AllYou.com and Reader’s Digest, Hills was a product and strategy consultant with Spinninghamster.com. Prior to Reader’s Digest, Hills led the New York expansion of London-based digital agency World Archipelago, which resulted in a revenue increase of 300 percent. A former journalist in the UK, Hills has a degree in politics from De Montfort University in Leicester, England.
