The Writers Guild of America, East announced today the launch of its new podcast, OnWriting. The show's premiere episode was released today and is available for download and streaming on all major podcast directories, including iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, and Google Play Music.

The podcast is hosted by Writers Guild member Jordan Carlos. Carlos is a writer, comedian and actor who is best known for his work on THE NIGHTLY SHOW WITH LARRY WILMORE, NURSE JACKIE, GIRLS, BROAD CITY and SAMANTHA BEE'S NOT THE WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' DINNER.

In the debut episode of OnWriting, Carlos spoke with Academy Award-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, TOY STORY 3) about Arndt's video lecture, ENDINGS: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE INSANELY GREAT. In the interview, Arndt explains how great film endings work through a close analysis of the climaxes of STAR WARS, THE GRADUATE and LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE.

Episodes of OnWriting will be released weekly on Tuesdays. Each episode features interviews with Guild members about their current projects - from pitching to production, from process to favorite lines, and everything in between.

Season One guests include Sofia Alvarez (TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE), Bill Hader and Alec Berg (BARRY), Ethan Hawke and Sybil Rosen (BLAZE), Emmy Blotnick(LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT), and David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik (EPISODES).

OnWriting will operate alongside the Guild's official interview publication of the same name. OnWriting began as a print publication in 1993, edited by Arlene Hellerman, and transitioned to an online platform in 2011. Over the course of its 25-year history, OnWriting has featured in-depth interviews with Guild members like Dick Wolf, Richard Linklater, Tina Fey, Aaron Sorkin and Rebecca Miller.

Lowell Peterson, Executive Director of the Writers Guild of America, East, said, "OnWriting has been a great way of engaging with our members and highlighting their work. The publication has featured interviews with screenwriters, showrunners, staff writers and industry leaders about topics ranging from the writing process to how to make the industry more inclusive. We are pleased to bring these enlightening and informative interviews to another platform."
