The 3rd Annual Cannabis Science Conference, the world's largest and most technical scientific cannabis event, is excited to announce celebrity plenary speaker, Fran Dresher as part of their already innovative line up of cannabis industry experts.

"Every year the Cannabis Science Conference works diligently to create relationships with celebrity influencers who are either in the cannabis space or looking to get involved," said Joshua Crossney, President, CEO and Founder of CSC Events, LLC. "We are thrilled to be able to introduce Fran Drescher to the cannabis science community. It has been such a pleasure getting to know Fran over the past few years through Cancer Schmancer and their wonderful events, such as the annual Cancer Schmancer Health Summit in Los Angeles and Cabaret Cruise in NYC. When I saw that Fran and Cancer Schmancer were beginning to include medical cannabis education into their events, I knew that Fran would be a perfect fit to address our esteemed guests at the 2018 Cannabis Science Conference."

Taking place at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, OR, from August 27 - 29, 2018, the Cannabis Science Conference organized by CSC Events, LLC, with title sponsor Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, is aimed at improving cannabis science. They pull together cannabis industry experts, instrument manufacturers, testing labs, research scientists, medical practitioners, policy makers and interested novices. This year the conference is expected to have over 3,000 attendees and 150 vendors from all over the world, another increase from last year where they saw 2,400 attendees and 125 vendors.

The conference will also feature various keynote speakers as part of their Analytical Science & Medical Cannabis and Cultivation Science tracks. These include:

  • Ethan Russo, MD - International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute (ICCI)
  • Dedi Meiri, PhD - Technion Israel Institute of Technology
  • Tracy Ryan - Cannakids & Saving Sophie
  • Bonni Goldstein, MD - Canna-Centers Wellness & Education
  • Autumn Karcey - Cultivo, Inc.
  • Roger Kern, PhD and Jacklyn Green, PhD - Agate Biosciences (formerly with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory)

In addition to the speakers, there will be many other presentations, round table discussions and exhibits designed to reach the many areas of the scientific cannabis industry. One such panel, "Docs and Jocks", will feature Dr. Uma Dhanabalan, MD, MPH, FAAFP, discussing the potential medicinal benefits in sports with professional athletes, like Marvin Washington and Riley Cote.

Finally, on August 27th, the show has their Canna Boot Camp, a full day, interactive workshop covering everything from cultivation, extraction, sample prep, analytical testing, edibles manufacturing and more. This event allows industry experts to join forces to demonstrate techniques, instrument and technologies and ultimately share their experiences with others in the industry. Tickets for this area limited and can be purchased along with conference and exhibition registration here.
