According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Smith is in negotiations to star in Legendary's adaptation of Marcus Sakey's novel BRILLIANCE. Julius Onah is set to direct from a script by David Koepp.

BRILLIANCE centers on a group of people "born with extraordinary abilities" and who are called "brilliants". Leading the story is "a federal agent with great hunting gifts" enlisted to hunt down a terrorist with the goal of starting a civil war.
Smith would play the agent.
The actor's upcoming big screen projects include Focus, Selling Time, Hancock 2, The American Can and Bad Boys 3.
His recent credits include Winter's Tale, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, After Earth, Men in Black 3, Seven Pounds and more. He is also well-known for his role in the TV sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
