Will Ferrell, Krisen Wiig to Star in Upcoming Lifetime Movie A DEADLY ADOPTION

The Hollywood Reporter reports exclusively that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig will star in a "top secret" original film for Lifetime titled A DEADLY ADOPTION, set to premiere in early summer.

According to the site, the dramatic thriller will follow a "successful couple who house and care for a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) with the hopes of adopting her unborn child - then things quickly go awry." The film is decribed as "campy and fun and a contemporary wink at the genre frequently seen on the Lifetime network.

The two-hour TV movie, executive produced by Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions, has already been shot. Ferrell acknowledges that he is a huge fan of the melodramatic Lifetime movie staples and has always dreamed of starring in one himself. and always has wanted to make one himself.

Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Escape From Polygamy, Love at the Christmas Table) will direct the project based on a script from The Spoils of Babylon's Andrew Steele.
