Will Forte is to leave the cast of NBC's 'Saturday Night Live,' the New York Times reports. A source told the Times that Forte "plans to pursue other projects" after departing the show.

Forte has appeared on 'Saturday Night Live' since the show's 2002-2003 season. His characters included the hapless MacGruber, political candidate Tim Calhoun, hermit The Falconer, and a member of the reverse Bon Jovi band Jon Bovi. Forte also starred in the film version of 'MacGruber.'

NBC has yet to announced whether new cast members have been hired for the show's upcoming thirty-sixth season, the Times reports.

In addition to 'Saturday Night Live,' Forte's screen credits include 'Clone High,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Flight of the Conchords,' 'Sit Down, Shut Up,' and '30 Rock.' He routinely appears off-Broadway in CELEBRITY AUTOBIOGRAPHY.
