Ever wondered what a Hollywood icon from the '80sor '90s would do for a Klondike bar? Klondike has too. That's why the brand, together with actor and comedian Joel McHale, have launched the Klondike Celebrity Challenge, a hilarious contest allowing fans to suggest ideas that may put some of their favorite stars from their past into fun and imaginative situations.
Throughout the summer, Klondike fans will be encouraged to demonstrate their creativity by coming up withchallenges fora trio of stars. The catch: Should a fan's idea get chosen, he or she will participate in the same challenge as the celebrity, making them viral video sensations.
First up is Alfonso Ribeiro, best known for his role as Carlton Banks on the TV show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Klondike and McHale will introduce a new celebrity on Facebook and Twitter every four weeks via a new online video. The second celebrity will be announced on July 15, and the third and final celebrity will be announced August 12.
"Klondike understands me better than even my own wife and children. And they know there's only one thing that truly brings me joy: making celebrities perform dares in exchange for iced creamed confections," Joel McHale said. "And Klondike also knows that I'm a huge fan of karmic retribution. So fans should be aware that the challenges they submit may be flipped around and posed to THEM. Did you guys capitalize 'them' in that last sentence? Make sure you do it's really important to me," McHale stressed.
Getting involved is easy. To participate, inquiring minds can 'Like' Klondike on Facebook (facebook.com/Klondike) and submit a challenge entry via the contest-dedicated tab. If Twitter is more their thing, they can follow @Klondikebar and post a challenge using the hashtag #KCC. All valid entries from Twitter will be showcased on the Klondike Facebook page. Each grand-prize winner's submission will serve as the inspiration for an actual video to be shared online. All three grand-prize winners will win a VIP trip to Los Angeles to hang out with Joel McHale and his celebrity friends at the end of the summer, as well as receive a supply of Klondike bars.
"Klondike is deeply rooted in comedy and is all about having a good time," Nick Soukas, brand building director for U.S. Unilever ice cream, said. "We created the Klondike Celebrity Challenge to give fans an opportunity to have as much fun with our iconic 'What Would You Do for a Klondike Bar?' slogan as we've had for the past 30 years."

About Klondike
The original Klondike bar was handmade in the early 1900s by dipping square slices of ice cream into pans of rich, delicious milk chocolate. Until the 1970s, the Klondike bar was sold only in Pennsylvania and Ohio. In 1978, distribution expanded into Florida, followed by New York and New England. Today, millions of Americans have come to love the Klondike bar's delicious variety of frozen novelty products with the distinctive silver wrapper, square shape and famous chocolaty coating. The "What would you do for a Klondike bar?" advertising slogan has become an American icon and commonly referenced in pop culture. Klondike bars remain top selling novelties in the ice cream category. Klondike currently has 11 unique stickless bar varieties, including: The Original, HEATH, Krunch, REESE'S, Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, OREO, Double Chocolate, Caramel Pretzel, Rocky Road and Neapolitan. The brand also offers four ice cream sandwich varieties, including: Mrs. Fields, OREO, Classic Vanilla and Chocolate, as well as The Original Choco Taco.
