Wayne Brady to Play Recurring Role in HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER's Final Season

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wayne Brady will return to CBS' HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER for the show's final season. Brady will appear in a recurring role as Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) brother James.

It was revealed earlier this year that Cristin Milioti will portray the titular 'Mother', and that the entire final season of the show will take place during one weekend.

Season 8 of the comedy concluded at the beginning of the wedding celebration of Ted and Robin. Series co-creator Carter Bays has revealed that Season 9 will tell "the Epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever." As the episodes unfold, viewers will get details on "how each character, before Ted, meets the mother. So, they each meet her independently before he does."

Milioti, whose casting was kept secret by incorporating fake episode titles and a largely closed set during taping, received a Tony nomination for her role of 'Girl' in the Broadway musical Once. She has also made a guest appearance on NBC's 30 Rock.

The entire cast, as well as HIMYM's creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, and director Pamela Fryman, are set to appear at Comic-Con in San Diego next week.

Brady has previously appeared in five episodes of HIMYM. Brady is the host of the TV game show Let's Make a Deal. His other TV credits include Sofia the First, American Dad!, Freestyle Love Supreme, Are We There Yet, Everybody Hates Chris, 30 Rock, Shorty McShorts' Shorts, Girlfriends, Reno 911!, The Wayne Brady Show and more. His next project is the movie 1982. Brady has appeared in Chicago on Broadway, as well as The Wiz at La Jolla Playhouse and in RENT at the Hollywood Bowl.
