Famed billionaire Warren Buffett offers his sweet tooth to help Arnold Schwarzenegger choose the winning team on an upcoming task for See's Candy, and former Microsoft CEO and L.A. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer inspires a contestant to go "full Ballmer" during the halftime show of a Clippers game coming up in January on "The New Celebrity Apprentice" at 8 p.m. ET/PT Mondays on NBC.
Also serving as boardroom advisors in January to Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with celebrity attorney Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger, will be TV/film producer and Emmy Award-winning "Extra" co-host Tracey Edmonds; Emmy-winning TV host/producer and previous winner of "The Celebrity Apprentice," Leeza Gibbons; Gemma Godfrey, the U.K.'s leading FinTech influencer and founder/CEO of online personal finance firm Moola; and health and fitness expert, TV star and three-time New York Times bestselling author Bob Harper.
On Jan. 16, the celebrity contestants are tasked with creating an artistic, magazine-style photo shoot and marketing campaign for a line of Kawasaki motorcycles and aren't afraid of pushing boundaries. Godfrey assists Patrick in overseeing the celebrity contestants' campaigns. As one team approaches the task with humor, the other team seems to take gender roles seriously ... maybe too seriously.
In the second episode that night the teams are shaken up and it's no longer women vs. men. They are directed to create a delicious new See's Candy for none other than world famous chocoholic Warren Buffett. Two representatives from each team fly to Omaha, Neb., to present the candy to Buffett in person. Preparation is key in this task as one team fails to do their homework.
On Jan. 23, the teams have to market a new healthy snack product for Lorissa's Kitchen. Fitness guru Bob Harper is on hand to help Patrick advise the Governor, who stops by for a surprise visit to check out the teams' presentations firsthand. Later, a heated boardroom debate about who is to blame on the losing team ends with another contestant getting terminated.
The next task is to create a digital brochure for world-famous attraction "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tracey Edmonds and Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger offer advice to the teams as they create a fun, informational guide to the popular theme park experience. One team lucks out as they have a Harry Potter fanatic leading the charge, and they impress Arnold with their enthusiasm and knowledge. Later in the boardroom, both teams are judged on the creativity of their theme concept, brand integration and their live presentations. But it is one player's controversial attempt to help their team that really gets Arnold's attention and brings out a very different side of the Governor.
With the competition well past the halfway mark, the
STAKES are higher than ever on Jan. 30 when former Microsoft CEO and L.A. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer serves as a boardroom advisor to Arnold, along with Patrick. The teams have to create a high-energy presentation to promote the Clipper brand and fire up Clipper Nation during a halftime show, as well as design a T-shirt for fans. While one celebrity contestant goes "full Ballmer" in their presentation and players on the opposing team hope a catchy tune will win over the crowd, another narrowly misses being terminated in the boardroom when they meet with Arnold and the advisors afterward.
Later, Emmy-winning TV host, direct-response sales Hall of Famer and last season's "Celebrity Apprentice" winner, Leeza Gibbons, joins Patrick as a boardroom advisor to the Governor as the teams are tasked with selling fitness equipment on QVC. Racing against the clock, they try to make fitness fun and sell as many products as they can in the limited time before facing Arnold for a boardroom shocker.
Over the course of the series, "The Celebrity Apprentice" has raised more than $15 million for charity. This season's winner will receive a $250,000 check to give to their designated charity.
"The Celebrity Apprentice" is produced and internationally distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
