NO BRAINER, an innovative quiz show co-developed by TV Asahi (Headquartered in Japan) and Warner Bros. International Television Production (Headquartered in the U.K) will make its debut at MIPTV this April with its pilot filmed in London, UK last week.
TV Asahi and Warner Bros. International Television Production signed a partnership deal in 2012 to co-develop TV formats which have been produced and aired on
TV Asahi.
The co-production team has now co-developed the exciting quiz format based on
TV Asahi's hit show "Speed King". A pilot for international sales promotion was filmed at the London Studios on February 22nd. It is the first time
TV Asahi has recorded a pilot at a studio abroad.
The rules and game play in "No Brainer" have been re-developed for audiences in Europe and U.S. The pilot has been produced by U.K.
Production Company Wall to Wall (a Shed Media company) using British contestants and staff at the London Studios to give the format a fully international flavor.
Senior Vice President, Creative, Format Development and Sales, Warner Bros. International Television Production, Andrew Zein comments on the occasion; "When we first looked at
TV Asahi's vast selection of entertainment shows,
SPEED King was one which stood out and we were immediately interested in developing it for an international audience. The pilot for No Brainer showcases this positive game show brilliantly - with its simple structure and potential for the underdog to save the day. We are excited about the potential of No Brainer - international audiences will enjoy watching the teams work together to win the big cash prize".
Leanne Klein, Creative Director, Wall to Wall adds: "We are delighted to be making this pilot. It has unique premise, which is very entertaining to watch. With the format tweaks we've brought to it, we think it has the potential to travel to many territories".
The producer of
TV Asahi's original format "Speed King", Masahiro Katano, who consulted on the UK pilot comments:
"'The underdog of the team becomes the hero savior of the team' is the key concept of the original show and "No Brainer" gives a clearer output of the concept boosting the show up into the top gear. It also has additional sequences and I can feel its excitement and fun surpassing the original Japanese version. The quiz show is very simple to follow and yet
The Players cannot help expressing roller-coasting emotional changes, which make the show so exciting and keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. I am so much looking forward to having the show aired around the world to be enjoyed by everyone."
As well as the pilot for "No Brainer", there is also another new format underway based on "The Factory", another quiz show produced and aired by
TV Asahi in 2011.
By making the best of the powerful international distribution network of Warner Bros. International Television Production and the innovative ideas of
TV Asahi, the partnership will continue to bring the excitement of
TV Asahi entertainment shows from Japan into the world to offer their unique joy and excitement to everyone in the world.
NO BRAINER
No Brainer is the brand new quiz show where every player has a price on their head!
Four friends have taken our General Knowledge test and have been ranked in order of intelligence. The least knowledgeable is worth the most cash for the team. The most knowledgeable, who in theory should have the best chance of getting an answer right, is worth five times less!
With a cash value on each of their heads, will our players live up to expectations? Will the 'Brainbox' choke under the spot light? Will the 'No Brainer' be a total liability as they repeatedly answer incorrectly?
To win big, the WHOLE TEAM will have to pull together...Use your players and your knowledge well and you could leave with the big cash prize!
